INDUSTRY UPDATE: A DROP IN RDF EXPORTS

Between January and October 2021, RDF exports from the United Kingdom were down 15%. During this period, only 1,243,517 tonnes were exported from the United Kingdom in comparison with 1,462,793 tonnes for the same period in 2020. The pandemic, import taxes and an increase in domestic energy requirements are some of the factors that have attributed to this drop. There is a visible decline in exports to the Netherlands. This is a result of the import tax introduced in January 2020.
