INDUSTRY UPDATE: HGV DRIVER SHORTAGE

The situation?

It has been widely documented in the mainstream news that there is a lack of HGV drivers. At present, there is a shortage of 100,000 HGV drivers in the United Kingdom.

A combination of multiple factors has led to this shortage. Brexit, COVID-19 and a backlog of HGV driver tests are just some of the factors that have contributed¹.
